Need I say more???
Watch the 3 minute HD trailer for the workshop composed of video and motion stills synced to beautiful music.
There isn’t a better time to photograph Zion than in early November. The sun is low, the crowds are lower, and the photographic possibilities are never higher.
Weather can range from blue skies and temps in the 80’s to cloudy and chilly days with snow flurries and overnight freezes.
But the real magic of Zion in the fall is the beautiful imagery that can be created with the reds and yellows from fall foliage, the blues and greens and sometimes browns of the Virgin River, in contrast with the reds and oranges and whites of the canyon walls and the special light that happens in Zion particularly at sunrise and sunset.
The photographic opportunities in Zion are endless, and this is the first ever opportunity to join Christine and me on this once-in-a-lifetime photo workshop.
Not only are you learning from one professional photographer - but 2 full-time professional photographers and artists with over 40 combined years of experience behind the camera as well as teaching and helping students.
We will show you our own unique techniques in the field photographing that has enabled us to acquire collectors and followers of our artwork worldwide.
We will teach you what we know from our extensive background and experience in photography in a way that is easy and fun to learn which allows you room to grow and advance from your new found knowledge and renewed enthusiasm in photography.
Join us in Zion for our five day photography workshop in one of the most beautiful places at it’s most magical time: fall in Zion National Park, Utah.
This workshop will take place at or near peak fall foliage in Zion National Park in Southwest Utah. We will bring you to some of the best locations to photograph in addition showing you some other places Christine and I love to photograph based on our experience shooting there during the fall.
Most days will see us starting our day about an hour before sunrise (about 6am) and photographing till around noon. During this time we will be photographing in locations best suited to early morning light. One-on-one and group presentations and discussions will take place throughout.
Following a few hour break, most afternoons will have us re-grouping around 4pm in an area that is best for evening light. Again one-on-one and group presentations and discussions will take place.
Throughout the workshop we will be talking heavily about light, composition, lens choice, artistic expression, color pallet, HDR photography, and more.
We will teach you our tips and secrets into creating fine art quality photographs in the field, and discuss ways to process those images during field presentations. You will return home with numerous images worthy of display, new knowledge and experience in how to create such images again in the future, and a new-found excitement and energy towards photography after learning for 5 days from 2 working pros who love to teach what they know.
Some of the locations we most likely will be photographing (depending upon weather and scheduling) include: the Watchman, Court of the Patriarchs, Towers of the Virgin, Checkerboard Mesa, the Virgin River, Big Bend, Emerald Pools, The Grotto, Temple of Sinawava, and more.
