I simply LOVE your work… such inspiration to me to work harder and dream bigger! Thank you!
Hi Matt: Received the photo “Survivor” in perfect condition and it is absolutely beautiful. The title and subject matter immediately appealed to me when I saw it. Thank you very much. It is going into an apartment in New York and will provide a sense of calm amidst all the craziness there.
Thank you very much for getting the picture to me. I picked it up yesterday evening on the way to work, unwrapped it today, and it will go on the wall tomorrow. It is as amazing as I remember it from Durango. I hope you are doing well in your travels, photography, and sales.
Your work is amazing. Have been to all the places you have photographed but never saw them as you have captured them. A treat to see your photography. Also enjoyed the TV interview. Seems like you have made your mark in the southwest. Continued success!
"Sunrise at the Court of the Patriarchs" in Zion National Park,In 2012 my collegue Christine Hauber and I spent over a week photographing and scouting locations for our Fall Foliage Zion National Park workshop in 2013 and were greeted with a cold, but brilliant sunrise at the Court of the Patriarchs in Zion National Park in Utah.
Thanks Matt! I told my husband about your work… Honestly – I felt like your work was in a different category from anything else I saw at the festival. Good job! You have an amazing talent capturing passion and beauty in your work. I can’t wait to look at the pictures again! If you are ever in the Sacramento area please let us know!
Matt, you are a very gifted young man. I appreciated seeing your work in Ruidoso, NM. Thanks for adding me to your email list.
Hi Matt. I was blown away by your Triptychs, especially Monument Valley Sunset. I really enjoyed the picture of it on the order page. Seeing it mounted on a wall, really struck me… Someday I hope to own at least one piece of your work. Very beautiful!
I just wanted to say it was great to meet you and to see your “dramatic” work in person. I must say I was very impressed, not only with your work, but with your booth and your own sense of ease and charm.
Greetings from CT…Your work is truly presenting God’s amazing creation in such an inspiring light. Well done good and faithful servant. Sounds like you have found a purpose and your passion is taking you on a unforgettable journey…
Hi Matt. My name is Tad and I met you on the bridge in Zion National Park about 3 weeks ago. You gave me your card to check out your website. I finally got around to doing so and wanted to commend you on your images. I really enjoyed viewing them. It looks like you made it just fine to the subway and came away with some nice shots. Hope all is well and I’m sure you are are busy with your art shows.
"Somebody Cares"It was April and Christine Hauber and I were in-between exhibitions in Texas so we met up with one of our workshop students (Kathy) and we went out photographing in the Hill Country
Driving along some back roads we came upon an old schoolhouse. Inside, I was immediately drawn to this old piano and equally old songbook. This photograph is titled, "Somebody Cares" and it happens to be the title to the song.
The song is copyright 1910 by Homer A. Rodeheaver. On the web it may be hard to make out the words, so here they are:
"Somebody knows when your heart aches, And evrything seems to go wrong;
Somebody cares when you're tempted, And your mind grows dizzy and dim;
Somebody loves you when weary; Somebody loves you when strong;
Somebody knows when the shadows Need chasing away with a song;
Somebody cares when your weakest, And farthest away from Him;
Always is waiting to help you, He watches you one of the throng
Somebody knows when you're lonely, Tired... (page torn on rest of words)
Somebody grieves when you're fallen, You are...(page torn)
Needing His friendship so holy, Needing...(page torn)
Somebody wants you to know Him, And know that He...(page torn)
Somebody waits for your coming, And He'll drive...(page torn)
His name? We call His name Jesus; He loves...(page torn)"
Thank you for fed-exing my ordered Winter at Paine’s Creek photograph. We love it!! It will bring us much pleasure over the years, I’m sure. Best of luck in your new location/endeavor. I hope you get to see the ocean once in a while!!
I just got your newsletter update. I’ve posted on your blog before and am a fan of your work. Just wanted to say that your work keeps inspiring me to move forward in my landscape photography career… please let me know if you ever do any seminars. My wife and I travel out your way quite often.
Thank You…It’s been a pleasure doing business with you. Thank you for sharing with the world your wonderful photography. I enjoy photography immensely and am currently redecorating my room, and your work of art will be one of the first things I put up to accentuate my refurbished living space.
We received the picture… it is GORGEOUS and everyone that sees it here in our home is raving about how beautiful a photo it is!!! Great work, as expected from you and Marci!

I was literally ROFLAL – rolling on the floor, laughing out loud – upon reading your essay. Priceless. Or, perhaps to paraphrase MC -
Supplies for pin-hole camera – $1
Paper and materials for print – $15
Image created with a lifetime of perspiration and experience – priceless.
Thanks for the inspiration for new answers and fresh attitudes to the question asked dozens and dozens and dozens of times at every art show!
I just want to say thank you for the short discussion we had last week at the Arts & Crafts show. I’m sorry I did not have more time for your great work. I am now back home and took the time to go to your website. Your photos are simply great and reading your self-questioning about photography struck a cord with me. You gave me an answer to a question I could not yet formulate. I too want to create images and not only take images. Now I need to take my Photoshop skills to a new level. Thank you for this 10 minutes revelation to me. Please put my email on your distribution list and maybe one day we’ll go to Arizona for a workshop with you.
Matt and Marci,
Cheryle just forwarded you link to your site. I’m awestruck! I absolutely love your AZ photographs. I am a long time subscriber to Arizona Highways (as was my father – I grew up reading the magazine), and your work rivals many of the shots I’ve seen… Congratulations… here’s wishing you GREAT success in your endeavor.
I am sure you won’t remember me, but I flock to all your exhibits in Cape Cod and we have spoken on two occasions. I love your web site and I can’t wait to make a purchase. Just have to save my pennies (lol) but I love your work. I read your history with the photography, it’s very interesting and shows your love.
