Utah Arts Festival wrap up

It is Tuesday morning and I am writing this  on my new iPad (yes I finally got one) while sitting in the laundry room of a KOA south of Salt Lake City following a fantastic weekend and show at the 2012 Utah Arts Festival.

A street performer at the Utah Arts Festival

For those who don't know, this festival has some long hours for artists - from noon to 11pm Thursday through Sunday - but it is certainly worth it. By 6pm the place is absolutely packed and both Friday night and Saturday night found me leaving my booth close to midnight to accommodate patrons interested in my photography.

It was certainly great meeting and chatting with everyone at the show. By Friday night I had run out of business cards and by Sunday night it seemed like I was starting to lose my voice. Following the end of the show Sunday evening I packed up everthing and had my trailer fully loaded by 3:30am. I think after one more nights sleep I should be fully recovered.

For the many new collectors who ordered pieces, those orders will go out today to my lab and will be soon shipped out to you.

It was also great catching up with close friends such as artist Steve Davis who makes beautiful copper fountains. The last time we exhibited together was at this same show in 2011 and it was fun hanging out.

On Wednesday I leave Utah for a string of shows in Colorado, starting with the Vail Arts Festival this coming Friday through Sunday.
