New Photos Now Available August 28, 2010

August 28, 2010

I have been very busy this year with my camera and am very excited to announce the release of 12 more photos to my fine art collections. Some of them are from my recent trip to California, and three of them are unique “Suess Originals” meaning that only one canvas print is available for purchase – once someone orders it, no more will be available. I hope you enjoy them.

For pricing and available sizes of any of these photos simply click on the photo to view a larger version along with pricing information.

“Scripps Pier”

This was photographed in La Jolla, CA after the sun had already set. Using a long exposure I was able to blur the water and also pick up the light from the pier reflected in the ocean.

This is a one-of-a-kind Suess Original Print. Only 1 (one) canvas print will be made of this photo - a 36"wide x 24" high stretched canvas piece. Be the only one to own this piece! The main photo was photographed at the Superstition Mountains in Arizona. The texture overlay is a photo of dried mud in southern Utah. (© Matt Suess)

“Superstition Mountains”

The photo of the Superstition Mountains was photographed a few years ago. The texture overlay of dried mud was photographed just the other week. I combined the two with stunning results – the photo literally bends and moves with the mud cracks as if it was printed on the mud just before it cracked. This is one of 3 new Suess Originals. Only one canvas print is available – a 24″ high by 36″ wide piece.

“Beauty”

This one I had a lot of fun with. Photographed at the Hearst Castle in CA, I used 1 photo and processed it 3 different ways: one for the highlights, one for the midtones, and one for the shadows. I then combined all three exposures into this HDR image.

“Beauty Times Three”

This piece was also photographed at the Hearst Castle and processed the same way as “Beauty”.

Sunset at Joshua Tree National Park in this impressive large panoramic photo. (© Matt Suess)

“Joshua Tree Sunset”

A total of 21 separate photos went into creating this panoramic image photographed at Joshua Tree National Park in California. Seven different compositions were made as I rotated the camera to provide me with about a 140 degree view. Each of the seven different compositions were photographed 3 times at different exposure settings – one for highlights, one for midtones, and one for the shadows. The result is a beautiful panoramic that can be printed LARGE with great detail – 96″ wide is the largest size available!

“Joshua Tree Sunset Diptych”

Same as Joshua Tree Sunset, but in two separate panels. The largest size for this measures 100″ wide!!

This us a one-of-a-kind Suess Original Print. Only 1 (one) print will be made of this photo - a 30"wide x 44" high stretched canvas piece. The main photo was photographed at Joshua Tree National Park. The texture overlay is a photo of limestone in central California. (© Matt Suess)

“The Timeless Joshua Tree”

Using techniques just like those I used for “Superstition Mountains”, this photo of a Joshua Tree in late afternoon sunlight was combined with a photo of a limestone wall found in California. This is my 2nd of 3 new Suess Originals. Only one canvas print is available – an impressive 30″ wide by 44″ high piece.

“Joshua Tree Starry Night”

This was a 40 minute exposure photographed at night in near complete darkness. I scouted this location earlier in the day and returned at night. The exposure finished shortly before the moon rose above the horizon behind me, providing just enough light to illuminate the landscape.

“Balanced”

This piece was photographed as the sun was setting behind me at Joshua Tree National Park. The bright orange rock certainly stands out from the cloudless blue sky.

This us a one-of-a-kind Suess Original Print. Only 1 (one) canvas print will be made of this photo - a 20"wide x 30" high stretched canvas piece. Be the only one to own this piece! The main photo was photographed at Monument Valley in Arizona/Utah. The texture overlay is a photo of dried mud in southern Utah. (www.mattsuess.com)

“Old Time Monument Valley”

This photo of Monument Valley was photographed over 4 years ago and combined with a dried mud photo from Utah that was photographed the other week just like Superstition Mountains and The Timeless Joshua Tree were created. This is the last of 3 new Suess Originals. Only one canvas print is available – a 20″ wide by 30″ high piece.

“Mesa Verde Ladder”

This was photographed last year in Colorado. The soft light and lack of bright colors gives this piece a real soothing feeling.

“One Headlight”

This was photographed in New Mexico a few years ago and processed just like Beauty and Beauty Times Three.
