With all the rain we have had this year in Northern Phoenix – already more rain than what we have had for the entire year last year – wildflowers are blooming all over the desert. And as luck would have it, time has not been on my side lately to get out and photograph much, with my art festival schedule taking up almost all of my free time.
I did, however, get one opportunity the other week to go out and photograph. Fellow photographer Christine Hauber and I did a short hike during a lovely – although windy – evening along a small mountain range in Northeast Phoenix. The area we hiked featured pockets of yellow wildflowers among the desert cactus. The late afternoon sun, when not hidden by the clouds that rolled in as we started our hike, provided us with beautiful and warm light.
Below is my favorite photo from that evening, titled “Sonoran Spring”.
“Sonoran Spring” is now available for purchase in my online photo galleries here.
